Everybody, get used to the name EZ Mil since you’ll hear more from him as he makes his name in the hip-hop and rap industry! We’re not just talking about run-of-the-mill rap, we’re talking about legendary status! Get to know the Filipino-American rapper who spits bars about being real and true to himself, EZ Mil!

Ez Mil, real name Ezekiel Miller Sapiera, rose to fame after his song ‘Panalo’ gained attention. Paired with a trap version of the Philippine folk dance Carinosa, the track speaks mostly about nationalism and being proud to be a true-blooded Filipino whenever and wherever. With hard-hitting lyrics and an expressive voice, it is no wonder this star in the making stood out right away!

Besides gaining instant virality, which can easily sky-rocket one's career, EZ Mil’s claim to fame was more than that — he was recognized by none other than the God of Rap himself, EMINEM. Yes, that’s right! The Real Slim Shady took a liking to this youngin’ and even took him under his wing. EZ Mil gives Rico and Kayla the blow-by-blow on how this happened: Sometime after releasing his 2022 album ‘DU4LI7Y,’ EZ Mil and his team received a message about a “secret meeting.” At first, they were skeptical of the message as it was indeed quite suspicious until they realized that the actual Eminem and Dr. Dre were reaching out to him and his team. Long story short, they flew to LA to meet with the legendary icons in the industry. EZ Mil definitely couldn’t contain his excitement, much more when Dr. Dre called him a “superstar”! As for Eminem, his first greeting towards EZ Mil was “Ezekiel! Where have you been for the last 20 years?” Man, EZ Mil was indeed a gem for both THE Eminem and Dr. Dre. Oh, EZ Mil was just getting started, yet it seems like he’s already come a long way! EZ Mil shared that Eminem stumbled upon his “Upon Down” song, and the rest was history.

Of course, EZ Mil didn’t just meet Eminem; he also collaborated with him on a track! EZ Mil dropped ‘Realest’ along with Eminem this year. But how did this come to be? EZ Mil had actually finished the verse and the hook for ‘Realest’ and presented it to Eminem. “[Dr.] Dre was bopping, then right after the beat, he was like, ‘Yup. Marshall gon’ eat that up.’" Then Em was at the back, "Yup! Give it to me.” And as easy as 123, EZ Mil and Eminem did a solid on ‘Realest’ and a feat that was a sure win for the rising star rapper and for Filipinos as well!

EZ Mil is totally living the dream now, but it took a lot of hard work, determination, and patience to keep pushing and be where he is right now. “I’m just glad to see so many people [...] backing us up.” For EZ Mil, this may be the beginning, yet there’s already a lot to come in terms of writing new lyrics, spitting fire bars, and making beats, whether as EZ Mil himself or collaborating with some of the GOATs in the industry! Now that EZ Mil has already made it, the striking rapper advises those who are just starting out and want to make it in the rap scene, “Record niyo lagi mga freestyle niyo. Pick out your favorite stuff that you write down from your freestyles, then actually twist them. [...] Take some time with your songs, cultivate it, lutuin niyo.” With hard work and lots of practice, along with skill and determination, who knows, you might just end up collaborating with the most respected artists in the industry, just like what happened to the one and only realest EZ Mil!
