A Monster exclusive: Sud Ballecer revealed on Wild x Wicked last April 23 that the band’s latest single is set for release on May 1!

Sud’s lead singer joined MJ and Tom last Thursday for an interview and performance on the show’s Facebook livestream. “Pwede ba kami mag-teaser?” he said after promoting the band’s social media pages. “Ngayon ko pa lang siya sasabihin publicly. Sa May 1, meron kaming new single na ire-release. Sana magustuhan niyo!” Then on Monday, April 27, the band officially announced the news, revealing the name of the upcoming single: SAGUTAN.

MJ and Tom were stoked to hear the news, saying “A Monster exclusive! You heard it here first!” The three talked about hopefully having Sud back on the RX Concert Series to perform the new single on air – fingers crossed!

If you’re wondering what else the band has been up to during ECQ, Sud explained that they have online jamming, recording their parts then exchanging files online. The wonders of technology, right? With all the free time on his hands, Sud has also been writing music a lot more (hmmm, maybe a new album soon?) and scratching the itch to play gigs by performing live on social media. Unfortunately, the rest of the band did not join the singer on Wild x Wicked’s show, but Sud’s acoustic rendition of ‘Baliw’ was a treat to listen to!

Tom and MJ also learned the story behind the band name SUD: In 2011, the original band members were all classmates and they would cover songs by Bamboo and Franco, which both use the lead singer’s name as the band name. So, a friend suggested using Sud’s name for the band, and it stuck!
