Pop-rock OPM band Moonstar88 made past, present, and future meet with their latest album drop, and the Monster got a first row seat to the greatness as they performed live on the Concert Series last July!

Formed in 1998, Moonstar88 consists of vocalist Maysh Baay, guitarist Herbert Hernandez, bassist Buddy Zabala, and drummer Bon Sundiang. Top-billed at sold-out concerts locally and internationally, they are known for their spunky sound and iconic hugot anthems, such as ‘Migraine’ and ‘Torete’.

Pegged to be the first “mixed reality album” in the country, ‘Lourdes 2088’ combines the musical experience with different modes of technology. It was released on the classic vinyl, the first for the band, and limited edition version-owners get access to unique web 3.0 experiences and exclusive Moonstar88 content. “We maximize kung ano ‘yung technology, which is what we always do naman,” bassist Herbert Hernadez says. How cool is that!

“It’s an album we made out of love talaga… The concept is like, what’s it gonna be by 2088? How are we gonna cope with life, with heartache? How fast can you delete the record?” vocalist Maysh Baay shares, saying that they started pondering on what the future will be like since they’ve gone through so much as a band. “There's a lot of history [there], we've been together for like, 20 years now. We started with cassette, to CD, to streaming... sumabay kami. So we feel like there's still something that’s gonna happen, and we’re still gonna be there.”

And the Monster will be too, the same we’ve witnessed the band’s growth over the years since the very start. We will always be rooting for you guys!
