Every interview nowadays starts with "how have you been doing during this quarantine?" and you guessed it, that's what Rico and Karla asked Maureen first! Maureen promised herself to make this quarantine period a productive one but well, it didn't really work out. She then got sucked into the world of TikTok! But TikTok is her way to show that she is still active on social media since she hasn't been much active recently on Instagram and is trying to stay away from Twitter. Although, her "TikTok career" was only short-lived because she found another way to pass time: Animal Crossing! Yes, Maureen is just as addicted to this game as much as you! She just fell into this rabbit hole of Animal Crossing and doesn't plan on finding a way out anytime soon! She even went in too much detail about her Animal Crossing journey! Well that's dedication!

In the topic of modelling, how and when did Maureen start to enter the modelling industry? She expressed interest in modelling when she was 12 years old and watched Germany's Next Top Model. And from there, she knew that that's what she wants to do! Although Maureen had to wait a few more years before she can officially start modelling since in Germany, you have to be 16 and atleast 5'9" to get in the industry. Maureen noticed that she wasn't growing as much to be the required height needed but luck is on her side as her current manager messaged her on Instagram, back when she was just 15, if she would be interested to model in the Philippines! At first she didn't really thought about it since she's living in Germany, but she also didn't hesitate that much since she wants to go to the Philippines and explore. But Maureen is just a risk-taker and accepted the offer and went to live in the Philippines! She actually was firm with her decision but her father wouldn't allow her to move and would want her to stay in Germany to finish school. Soon enough, her father did allow her to move on the condition that if modelling did not work out, she has to go back and finish her studies in Germany and live a regular life but a month after moving to the Philippines, she got accepted to Asia's Next Top Model and the rest is history!

When Maureen started on the 5th Cycle of Asia's Next Top Model, she didn't even get to gather enough modelling experience to prepare herself for the show! Maureen was a total newbie on the show! She did positively take that factor since she learned a lot about modelling as opposed to being in the industry for a while then joining a competition like this where they literally get judged for their skills. It's amazing how Maureen is adjusting to everything - from moving to the Philippines to joining a big modelling competition as she is still in her adjustment period, and of course, becoming named Asia's Top Model of Cycle 5 with little experience! How she does that is beyond remarkable and we've got to give huge props to Maureen for finishing on top! Not to mention, she's also the first Pinay to win the competition!

Speaking of AsNTM, Maureen talked about the most challenging shoot she's done in the show. It was during the ice skating episode where they had to pose on the rink, Maureen was tasked a pose in which she has to dig her ice skate shoe on the ice so she can stay put but it was painful on her part! Despite the hassle, Maureen still got the best photo for this challenge and is one of her favorites!

How did Maureen overcome the mental fight with herself while on a big competition like AsNTM? Focus on one thing! Focus only on the shoots, the challenges and think about why you're here. Maureen admitted that she is a huge overthinker, and she gets criticism for it but that did not stop her to reach and achieve her goal! “You just really have to find your purpose in the competition and then focus on that."

Maureen was first concious and insecure about what she's doing when having photoshoots, but after time she did get used to it! She tells that when you're used to that, you wouldn't even realize that there's a whole set of people watching you pose for the camera. Learning is also a big part of the process as all models went thru the same thing! And she overcame her insecurity about it and is blessing us with killer poses and amazing looks!

Since Instagram has been a platform for everyone to be a Top Model on their own, Maureen gave some tips about Instagram modelling! Tip 1: Using your phone is fine but for a really high-end Instagram photo, it's good to invest in a camera. Tip 2: Add minimal filters! Maureen personally adds filters on photos by adding grain to her photos to make it look not too perfect but nice in a vintage kind of way. Also trying other vintage type of filters of just as simple as black and white will do! Tip 3: Have someone that can take your photos! Maybe a friend or someone you're comfortable with! In terms of taking your own photos, Maureen is all about the angles and the set up! Find your good angles and have a tripod with you. She also recommends an remote-like equipment that you can connect with your phone or camera and with just the click of a button, you can easily pose while taking photos of yourself!

Aside from being a model and celebrity, Maureen also has another occupation - a fur mom! And not just to one, but to 5! Maureen has a dog and 4 cats: 2 of them are American Curls but the other one Maureen thinks is a mixed also but she just couldn't figure out what breed, a domestic, a Scottish Fold and a Chihuahua dog. Maureen's pet's names are all food/beverage related - her cats are Milo from the drink Milo, Twinkie from the cake snack Twinkies, Caesar from Caesar Salad, Natella from the chocolate Nutella and her dog Patchi from the chocolate brand Patchi! How cute and creative are these! Maureen lives alone but atleast she has her adorable pets to keep her company!

Maureen hasn't discovered anything new about her during this quarantine but she already does love to cook, bake and sketching! She has been sketching celebrities again during this quarantine. Yes, again! Maureen admitted that she has been doing sketches of celebrities in the past just to get their attention but she didn't think she can still do it 'till now! She even showed us her sketch of Timothée Chalamet and it was just wow!

Maureen is in an industry where negative energies still exist. How does Maureen handle all this? "I'm Cancer, I'm a sensitive crab." was what Maureen first said. We feel ya, girl! Let our astrologies define us (just kidding!) But all jokes aside, when the hate starts to get her, Maureen talks to her manager and gives her motivation to not let these negative people get inside her head because these are just people behind the screen who are not paying Maureen any single cent! Maureen just turn things around by thinking about the reason why these negative people are the way there are, which makes the hate less hurtful for her. "It's just words, they shouldn't mean so much and these are words not said in person but said on the internet."
