"My Beating Heart" is a track from their upcoming album, the first they produced with new band member Chino David. According to Champ, Chino became officially a part of the band last October 2017. "It wasn't that hard for us to all mesh [together], it feels natural," Champ said. He also added that Chino and Roll Martinez' (lead guitarist) longtime friendship helped a lot.

In addition to their latest single, Hale also performed "Alon," a track they released last year that is also going to be a part of their upcoming album. According to Champ, they have been working on this album since 2016. He admitted that they would have released the record way earlier but they considered adjusting to having a new member and new manager first.

And we couldn't agree more! The new album is totally worth the wait. I mean, just listen to this new version of "Broken Sonnet" with Chino David, I just started to lose it at 3:21. If the new record sounds like this, then yes the extra 2 years of waiting is totally forgivable.

Hale's familiar sound, amidst the boatload of material from the recent indie sound wave, offers a kick of nostalgia. To those who have been listening to OPM from the early 2000’s, aren't you glad that Hale is still here to make new music and play old favorites?
